Animated commercial for an insurance company
Told entirely through animation, this commercial for an insurance company builds its brand story out of 3D character work, lighting and compositing. In the frame shown, a family of stylized mice stands outside a yellow house beside a small car while a hand many times their size reaches into the shot to set down a flowerpot — a scale gag that has to hold up as a single believable space.
Character-led advertising lives or dies on performance. Rigs have to carry acting that reads in a few seconds — a glance, a shift of weight — while fur, cloth and secondary motion are simulated so the animals feel soft and physical rather than plastic. A miniature world raises the difficulty further: depth of field, texture density and lighting all have to argue for one specific scale, and the moment a full-size element enters the frame, matching shadows, contact and grain becomes the whole job. CG environments, set dressing and compositing hold the illusion together across the cut. Terminal FX’s animation and visual effects for the spot are part of our commercial and advertising portfolio.
